Conditions: High 60s, calm, a bit humid, but dry.
Tha thang: Head down Mt Regal, turn right on Old Cherokee to the top of the steep hill, turn around, head down and turn left and climb Mt Regal, turn around… rinse and repeat for 45 minutes.
Moleskin: After an extended hiatus from Q duties, YHC decided to grace the Pax with a doozy of an assignment… hill repeats… on Wednesday… after Tailpipe reminds YHC that they did a similar route on Monday.. that YHC does not remember running although he posted. There was an extended disclaimer with some focus placed on the air quality alert due to some wildfires in Canada. He announced the route to grumblings and groanings and set the Pax off on whatever variation they chose… and there were quite a few.. because who likes to run hill repeats??!!??
Some ran parking lots, some did an Out and back on N. Lake drive, some walked the parking lot. That’s what is great about F3. THese guys jumped out of the fartsack and posted and did something. No one was alone. Relationships were strengthened.
All the Pax returned in one piece.. a little brighter, a little lighter, a lot stronger.

This Q chose to share part of a lesson he got to teach on a very special hike he got to help lead in the spring. This lesson was about honesty.. brutal honesty and used the passage out of Luke 6 where Jesus heals the man with the withered right hand. You may be asking yourself… what does that story have to do with honesty?? Well, that man with the withered hand had a lot to hide.. a lot to be ashamed about. His right hand… the hand that is the symbol of strength, the one we use to greet each other with was disabled… deformed.. And at that time, no one wanted to see imperfections. How different is that today? Do we want to show our disabilities, or deformations, or shameful habits? But out of obedience and courage, when Jesus asked this man to show his withered hand, he did and Jesus healed him. Read about it here:
On another Sabbath, he entered the synagogue and was teaching, and a man was there whose right hand was withered. 7And the scribes and the Pharisees watched him, to see whether he would heal on the Sabbath, so that they might find a reason to accuse him. 8But he knew their thoughts, and he said to the man with the withered hand, “Come and stand here.” And he rose and stood there. 9And Jesus said to them, “I ask you, is it lawful on the Sabbath to do good or to do harm, to save life or to destroy it?” 10And after looking around at them all he said to him, “Stretch out your hand.” And he did so, and his hand was restored. 11But they were filled with fury and discussed with one another what they might do to Jesus.
What do you have to hide? What habit do you have that you are ashamed of? What lies have you been telling to protect your reputation? If you do not get that out in the open and extend your withered hand fully, Jesus CAN’T heal you from that pain, shame, guilt, etc. A finger or two don’t count gentlemen… you MUST stand up and be brutally honest so that you can be healed… so you may experience true intimacy with God and others. What is left in secret.. in the dark.. Satan WILL use to bury you and keep you further and further from true intimacy and the love of our Father in Heaven.
THink about this.. Talk to someone you trust. Pray and ask what he wants you to reveal. Only he can show you.
