Another year has come and gone and 8 HIM at Surge stood side by side to say goodbye to 2022. We saw a lot of awesome things in 2022. As an A/O we continued to strive to show that we are #themodel. We did not TALK (except Skid and Black Betty) we DID. During the past 365 days we saw new faces come and saw some familiar faces fade for whatever reason. We pray for their safe return to the gloom. We saw Kilo, Big Papi, and Flo-Ria join us. We saw Saget come back for his insane running challenge. We saw Chop Shop rise from occasional post-er, to regular attendee, to AOQ! In our personal lives we lost loved ones, struggled with marriages, had various injuries, had issues with our children, saw friends get sick, saw brothers undergo surgery….but it wasn’t all doom.
We saw brothers run their first marathons and half-marathons. We continued our partnership with Mission Lexington. We collected shoes for Digits. We saw the birth of Don’t Suffer and a new partnership begin with the Central Midlands Transitional Retreat Center. We also saw brother set goals for themselves, and smash them. We saw our very own Lt. Dan make a strong push to be the leader of our schools. And like he has said multiple times….the best is YET to come.
At the end of 2021 we discussed what the goals were. We saw Dominion and Black Betty shoot for the 1,000 mile club and get it. Others like YHC shot for 125 F3 posts and 1,200 miles. And because of God and this fellowship goals were reached. I waited a day to see how the totals would shake out. The 2.0 has his first wrestling tournament on 12/31 so I know today was the last chance. Posting today at F3 Indian Run and getting 9 miles in smashed goals with 166 F3 Posts and 1,401.1 miles.
So where do we go from here? We have this group of Highly Motivated Men that just continue to do great things in the gloom and in life. Let us challenge each other…push each other…and do what we do best…hold each other accountable. Let’s set our own individual goals. But let’s not let life take F3 from us. Here’s a challenge for all of us…get 1 person to join us…each of us get 1….whether it an FNG, or and OG….if we all get 1…we grow….we get better…we can be destined for CONTINUED greatness. Then it spreads to other A/Os and Lexington gets bigger, better and stronger.
