Good to Be Back at Q at Shawshank

YHC hasn’t been able to Q in a while. He was scheduled at the beginning of August but an injury sidelined him and he had to switch. Good day to be in the gloom with our brothers and getting some work in. We had a great crowd with some guys showing back up we haven’t seen in a while. Bing was there, along with Runaway, and Doodah who all brought their A game. Coon Dog, Soaker, and Lego were there on time for SL, while YHC showed up about 5 minutes late and had to catch them on the home stretch. We had some respect guys and even a FNG, welcome Brain Freeze. Looking forward to next time!

Devo:

I recently was held accountable by one of our brothers on something I said. While my comments were said in jest, they crossed a line and were not a good look for F3, even if they were “just a joke.” We all need brothers like this. We all need to be called out on our BS from time to time and we need good men who have our best interest in mind to point out when we are falling short of what we should be in the eyes of God. I was beyond grateful for my brother for doing this, in private nonetheless. I needed this accountability and am glad to have a brother like him.

It reminded me of the Lost Sheep parable where Jesus asks his men, and I’m paraphrasing, to leave the 99 sheep in their flock and go after the one sheep that has lost its way.

Jesus told them this parable. “Which of you men, if you had one hundred sheep, and lost one of them, wouldn’t leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one that was lost, until he found it? When he has found it, he carries it on his shoulders, rejoicing. When he comes home, he calls together his friends, his family and his neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!’ I tell you that even so there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents, than over ninety-nine righteous people who need no repentance.”

— Luke 15:3–7

We are all that one lost sheep from time to time. We need a true brother to find us, point us in the right direction, and the humility to right our wrongs. Maybe there is someone in your life that is doing wrong and doesn’t even know it. Maybe there is a brother who hasn’t posted in a while and needs to be directed back to the flock. Keep your eyes open for your brothers and keep them on the right path. As F3 members, this is what we are called to do.
