Wednesday evening started out like any other…dinner for two at home, little relaxation, out the door for small group, home around 9:15, big glass of milk, 8 oreos, 1 banana, and a bunch of pistachios as I sat down to watch an old episode of The Rockford Files. Awesome show, awesome snack, awesome night.
Normally, the phone is put away around 9 until the following morning. Last night, I decided to check the Shawshank DM page to find out who had the Q and my main man, Hash & Rice, announced it was YHC. Well, time to plan a good one.
Workout planned, good night of sleep, alarm goes off and YHC is on the way to SL where 3 other pax joined the fun. What a great run and convo with some of the best.
Bootcamp is now upon us and it’s time to go. Here is how it went down.
1 minute warning (exact time), no FNG’s, disclaimer, open in prayer (specifically prayed the pax would enjoy a slaughter starter)…20 burpees on your own after the amen.
Mosey to a field far away for COP. SSH x 20 IC, TTT x 10 IC, Michael Phelps x 15 IC.
The thang: We found laminated instructions for a partner workout.
Exercise 1 – 100 burpees as a team. P1 does burpees, P2 backpedals across the soccer field for 1 bobby hurley then runs back. Flapjack until reps are complete.
Exercise 2 – 250 freddy mercury’s (4ct). P1 does exercise, P2 backpedals across the soccer field for 1 bobby hurley then runs back. Flapjack until reps are complete.
Exercise 3 – this was a fan favorite – 300 hand release merkins. P1 does exercise, P2 runs across the soccer field for 10 mountain climbers (2ct) then runs back. Flapjack until reps are complete.
Exercise 4 – 250 squats. P1 does exercise, P2 runs across the soccer field for 10 bbsu’s then runs back. Flapjack until reps are complete.
Exercises completed right on time. Recover and mosey back to the flag.

Devo: Treasuring Redemption’s Price – came across this devo on Galatians 3:13 the other day (Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree). This went into detail what it meant for Jesus to die for us and what it meant for Him to be cursed. Pretty sobering to think we are the beneficiaries of God’s love in this manner. Don’t take it for granted what you have in Him.
