YHC did not have a planned Q until his good buddy, Cheers, texted and asked for the weinke. Cheers, if you know him, does the planned workout on his own when he cannot post at the Shank. This is accountability at its finest. He was informed the workout would include 1,000 burpees and 3 miles of bear crawls. To his credit, he knocked it out. Just kidding, he got a version of the workout before it was planned.
October 3 is a great day for many reasons. In 1940, the US Army formed it parachute trooper school. Hats off to these men who jumped into Normandy and Holland. Elvis came in 5th place in a talent show, as a 10 year old, in Tupelo, MS. Bobby Thomson hits the shot heard around the world in 1951. Captain Kangaroo premiered in 1955. Hank Aaron singles in his last at bat in 1976.
By far, the biggest event in the history of the world on October 3, was the birth of Jennifer Scarlett, my 3.0. She has been a huge blessing to our family in 4 short years and reminds me every day of just how fast time passes. Enjoy the little moments with your 2.0’s, because they will soon be cranking out the next generation.

The Thang:
Partner 1 does soaker merkins while partner 2 does squats. A soaker merkin = merkin with hand on both blocks, merkin with left hand on block, right hand on ground, merkin with right hand on block, left hand on ground, merkin with both hands on ground. Do these 4 and you have done 1 soaker merkin.
Round 1 – 10 soaker merkins plus the squats, flapjack so each partner does each exercise. Rinse and repeat for 5 rounds. (Round 2 and 3 – 5 soaker merkins, Rounds 4 and 5 – 3 soaker merkins).
After each round, run 100 yards for 5 burpees, 15 freddy mercury’s (2ct), 20 lbc’s.
Recover after 5 rounds and return to the shelter for 90 seconds of people’s chair.
