Old School Workout lead by an Old Guy

Six faithful pax posted at Lexington – Turning Point on a overcast morning with a nice and cool 64 degree breeze to follow an OG around the front yard. “It’ll be easy he said.” No shoes were thrown. So, it must have been tolerable.

Circle up right on time for a disclaimer and prayer.

Started where we stood with:

  • 5 burpees OYO
  • 10 TTT IC
  • 5 burpees OYO
  • (welcome back Buttermaker, now with shoes)
  • 10 windmill IC
  • Arms up for 10 IC of (LBAC forward, Overhead Claps, Dirty Bird, LBAC reverse, Moroccan Night Club)
  • 10 Mountain Climber IC
  • 10 Imperial Walker IC

Mosey around the parking lot and line up at the lower end for time trials.

  • 75% run up the parking lot
  • 75% run down the parking lot
  • 90% run up the parking lot
  • 100% give me what you’ve got down the parking lot
  • Pair up (1st finisher with 6th, 2nd with 5th, and 3rd with 4th) these are  your partners.
    • Separate with 1 partner at one end of the parking lot and the other partner at the other end of the parking lot. The exercise is to sprint to meet your partner, do a team exercise, and return.
    • Exercises: Round 1 – 10 Jump High 10s, Round 2 – 10 BBSU High 10s, Round 3 – 10 IC Plank High 5s
    • Recover lap around the parking lot, because “Running is Recovery”
    • Flip-flop ends of the parking lot, Rinse-n-Repeat all three rounds

At this point, a pax or two noted the rain had started. It was really more like a light mist in the air, but YHC let them think we were modifying for the rain as we moved to our next station of the daily plan.

All pax stepped over to the center point of the school front covered sidewalks. That was home base (hub) and each of the three sidewalks were our spokes. The next set of exercises consisted of running to the end of each spoke for an exercise, returning to the hub between each spoke. Each time the pax pass the hub, they completed 5 burpees OYO. Spoke exercises:

  • Round 1 – Shoulder Taps 10 each shoulder
  • Round 2 – Plank Jacks 10 OYO
  • Round 3 – Hip Taps 10 each hip (round three dropped burpee count to 3 each pass, due to time)

  • Heel Taps 20 each side OYO
  • Flutter Kick 20 IC
  • Knee Caps 20 OYO
  • Hello Dolly 20 IC
