No Coupons Needed (Virtual Q)

7 PAX woke up this morning ready to get better.  YHC didn’t sleep that great last night, probably a combination of world events and wanted to make the Zoom Q turned out OK this morning.  Needed the accountability though and glad to get up to lead this morning.  Thankful to the leadership of F3 to start these Zoom Q’s and provide opportunities for men to get better.  These are ominous times; however, now more than ever we need all 3F’s – Fitness, Fellowship (even if virtual) and Faith.  Listening to a virtual men’s prayer breakfast yesterday, the pastor spoke of leadership and wanted to provide a few thoughts on that:

  • Be Patient, Not a Warrior: Proverbs 16:32, “Better a patient person than a warrior, one with self-control than one who takes a city.
  • Don’t be Timid, God gives us Power, Love, and Self-Control: 2 Timothy 1:7, “For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.
  • Make Sacrifices: for each other, our families, for those in need
  • Believe in the Power of the Resurrection: We’re heading into Holy Week, which is the cornerstone of what we believe as Christians, put your faith in the God who rose from the Dead
  • Feed your flock, Be good example, eager to serve the Lord: 1 Peter: 1-5
  • Seek Wise Counsel: As Leaders we need to seek wise counsel when make decisions, talk to an expert, someone with more experience than you
  • Win the Battle at War in Mind:
    • This will time were in will pass
    • God is with you always
    • Control how we think, be positive
    • No excuse why we can’t lead
  • See Opportunities, Not Obstacles: Now more than ever, we are surrounded by those most important to us every day – we’re working from home, we’re not traveling, we’re being teachers, we’re making lunches, etc…God has forced us to be present…we have opportunity each day to make the best of our situation and lead the ones we love.

Devotion:

Your Mess
Blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the LORD his God, (NIV) ( Psalm 146:5 )

Where do you turn when your life turns into a mess?  How do you pick up the pieces?  A mess is always easier to clean when you have someone helping you.  God is just waiting for you to invite Him into your mess.
