Good Times Under the Shelter at Shawshank

YHC drew the short straw today and had to lead a soggier than usual Shawshank workout under the shelter. He wouldn’t have it any other way. These men put in work today and got out of their comfort zone to get better. Coon Dog was mean to 5 Play and he made a rather nasty joke about Michael Jackson, both hilarious in their own way, to add to the festivities. YHC is always grateful to have all of these men in his corner, or in this case under the shelter.

Follow Your Heart; Trust in the Lord

There are contradictions in the Bible about following your heart. See below:

Jeremiah 17:9 ESV / 301 helpful votes Helpful Not Helpful
The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately sick; who can understand it?

Luke 12:34 ESV / 225 helpful votes Helpful Not Helpful
For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

Matthew 15:19 ESV / 169 helpful votes Helpful Not Helpful
For out of the heart come evil thoughts, murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false witness, slander.

However, Psalms 37:4, along with Proverbs 3: 5-7, gives us a good perspective and combines these thoughts together. These passages tell us to follow our hearts and what we want, but trust in the Lord. He will steer you in the right direction, we just have to listen. Hopefully, our leaders in all capacities will listen.

Psalm 37:4 ESV / 150 helpful votes Helpful Not Helpful
Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.

Proverbs 3:5-7 ESV / 205 helpful votes Helpful Not Helpful
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. Be not wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord, and turn away from evil.
