Burpees plus other stuff

YHC went to bed on a blistery Wednesday night with dreams of hitting SL and a plan for BC. Well, 2am came around and YHC was wide awake and decided to login and do some work. Big mistake. Logging off around 4am, I decided an hour of sleep was needed and passed on SL. My apologies to Coon Dog to whom I gave an HC the day before. I am a schmuck of giant proportions. 3 men posted for SL and 1 wus stayed in bed.

That being said, I arrived a little early and went to check on the conditions of the fields. They were a tad swampy after the rain; therefore, a pivot was made and a classic workout was retrieved from the trunk.

1 minute warning, disclaimer, no FNG’s, open in prayer.

Mosey around 2 parking lot islands back to where we starter.

SSH x 15-ish IC (lost count for some reason), TTT x 10 IC, Michael Phelps x 10 IC.

Head to the shelter for the fun.

This was a ladder routine developed by yours truly. After each round, the pax ran around 1 parking lot island stopping to do 10 Bobby Hurleys at each speed bump.

Add an exercise after each lap.

  1. 10 burpees
  2. 15 step-ups (each leg)
  3. 20 decline merkins
  4. 25 v-ups
  5. 30 squats
  6. 35 merkins
  7. 40 dips

A few more rounds were planned but this is where we ended.

70 burpees, 90 step-ups (each leg), 100 decline merkins, 100 v-ups, 90 squats, 70 merkins, 40 dips

During the last round, Bring Sally Up came on the playlist and used the last few minutes enjoying the song doing merkins (verse 1) and squats (rest of song).

Recover and return to flag.

Devo / thought: My M and I have a 3 year old granddaughter living with us at the moment. She is a huge blessing to the family. Last night, she asked why Jesus had to come at Christmas time. What a great question and opportunity. He came for the world, sure, but he came for us as individuals. I had a convo with her and let her know Jesus came for her. Make sure this time of year, you remember what we are celebrating and why. Enjoy the season.
