The night before YHC was worrying that he may fall asleep during his Q. He was up late finishing up a final assignment for school, and for some reason the TV and Twitter kept on interrupting him while he tried to finish his assignment. On top of that he had signed up to Q the regions earliest AO, so he set his alarm but left his normal ones on as a back up. Well fast forward about 4-4 1/2 hours later and he hears the alarm going off, except it wasn’t the early alarm it was the regular alarm. So YHC threw his socks and shoes on, grabbed his water, and hustled out the door. Luckily all three traffic lights were in his favor allowing him to expeditiously make to the AO with 3 minutes to spare where he found 8 other pax waiting for him. So we all moseyed off into the gloom to work on getting better and being better…

Devo
YHC had a Monday that was similar to what most cartoons make Mondays seem like. Had a pipe burst at his house, heating and air unit needed to be worked on again, kids were whiny and one was sick, to much work to do with not enough time to do, tired, etc…etc…etc. Around midnight when he finally finished an assignment for school and climbed into the fartsack he thought about it and realized that while the day wasn’t the best day ever…things could be worse. Nothing life altering happened, he was blessed to have a roof over his head, wife and kids that loved him, a job to complain about, and an excellent group of believers to keep him accountable (otherwise known as F3). He then thought about his devo from this past Saturday and the growing prayer list, and in reality his “hard” day was nothing compared to what those that were mentioned in the prayer request were going through. He thought about the faith and courage that those individuals had, and it inspired him to stop pitying his self and worrying about a “bad” day when there was so much more to be thankful for. The gist of things is that you can’t let the little things crush your faith, your faith has to endure through the hard times and Gods will, your family, and your friends will help you get through it. That’s what they are there for, to guide you, lead you, and be there for you and you need to do the same for them. So remember, keep the faith…don’t stop believing (and now you have Journey stuck in your head).
