Two years….Where does the time go? Seems like only yesterday Scotch was in my kitchen talking to YHC and the M talking about this thing called F3 and some two years later we are celebrating again at Surge. What’s more, for the past year plus YHC has served as AOQ and today was bittersweet as the shovel flag was handed over to a very worth Bogey.
The time at Surge and as serving as AOQ has been life changing. AOQ was a position held near and dear to the heart and was taken as seriously and handled with as much care as any employment. The path had been paved by the leaders before YHC….Rec and Wee Wee and Escobar. When I first showed my face ITG it was Dominion and Twerk, then Keychain. Now Bogey and Black Betty (it was a honor serving as AOQ with you and I will never forget that you introduced yourself as Black Betty because your “mom had a thing for classic rock”). The regime that held the flag when I showed up is what kept me from throwing in the towel that fateful June 11 morning in 2020 after enduring a brutal beatdown at the hands of Escobar.
This fellowship and thing we call F3 is special. In the two years of being a part of it, I had been able to travel with my family and still find beatdowns no matter here I go. I had been Blessed with the opportunity to visit 4 regions, F3 Knoxville, F3 Cleveland, F3 Richmond Hill, and most recently F3 Jacksonville where I attended 3 different AOs and even Qed a Saturday bootcamp. What gift to be a part of something so great.

Because YHC has a tendency to be nostalgic at times, I wanted to bring a Q to the Gloom that had some meaning to YHC. T-Claps to Escobar for having the Weinke from June 11, 2020, the first time I stepped foot in the gloom, the punishing, miserable Q that made YHC swear I would never be back. And thank goodness for the Back Blast forums where I was able to look back on last years beatdown to dust it off and bring it back out today (with minor adjustments).
