Potluck explained what the format for this weekly meeting would be. We will discuss a passage of Scripture as a group to include examining the passage for application for those in the passage and also in our lives. Ideal group size is 6-10 men (12 already too many). We will starfish as needed.
In discussing the calling of the 12 disciples, we each were asked who we identified in the story? For me, it was the brothers (James son of Zebedee and John) who were mending their nets when Jesus called them.
In the end we were challenged to reread the story and see what God was telling you do in light of this story this week.
We then counted off and had 4 groups of 3 men who shared contact info (cell/email/etc) and we committed to praying for each other this week (Eccl 4:12-“And though a man might prevail against one who is alone, two will withstand him—a threefold cord is not quickly broken.” ESV

All I will say is that there was a very real sense that every man that posted at 2nd Wind last Tuesday desires to be a better follower of Jesus. The encouragement that we’ve all received from our F3 brothers when doing burpees,100s of yards of bear crawls or Merks during PT test was even more palpable as we were again united in spirit towards our goal of being Godly men. I was richly blessed by the encouragement and prayers from the two (2) men that God allowed in my life for accountability.
I am looking forward to seeing how our discussion of The Prodigal Son (Luke 15:11-32) breaks on each of us at the next 2nd Wind on 2/10.
