Never Forget 9.11.01

16 Pax gathered in the gloom of the Crypt to honor the lives lost 13 years ago on this day in our nations greatest domestic tragedy. The pace was fast and the mumblechatter was low as YHC lead the group on a tour of campus with 10 painstations sprinkled in. In the end it was revealed to the Pax how our running ladder added up to honor the lives lost.

Weather: 65ish and gloomy….perfect

After the uncharacteristically short COP the Pax looked a little apprehensive at what might be on the horizon.

Starting with a Mac-paced mosey towards the helipad we ran a total 1.25 miles with 10 stops for our ladder work.

The Pax knocked the ladder out with a brisk pace and strong sets so they could enjoy some work on the guns with Brickwork….

Unfortunately someone tipped off the bricks that we were coming and they were nowhere to be found.

****This is an APB issued from the #Crypt….Be on the lookout for our “man-sized” bricks…last seen in the gloomy corner of the crypt******

After YHC called the audible for a burpee train through the parking lot there was new found interest in finding the missing bricks.

Burpee Train – Sprint the length of the parking lot rows and do 5 burpees at each turn around through the parking lot.

I think Double Dribble ended up a couple of parking lots over by the end. #thatkidisabeast

After a short Plank-o-rama waiting on the 6 we moved back to the front yard for a nice damp 6 minutes of Mary

Take-a-Number led us in recapping the reps from our ladder and the meanings behind them as they relate to the 9/11 tragedy. Then led a devotional “Carrying other’s burdens”

Here is the breakdown of the numbers from our workout

29 SSH 7 WM 7 TTT represent the number 2977 which is the total number of lives lost on 9/11.

40 Merkins represent the 40 people who lost their lives on Flight 93 that crashed in Shanksville, PA.

125 Squats represents the number of lives lost at the Pentagon.

343 LBCs represents the Fire Department and Paramedics who lost their lives.

19 reps in Mary represents the number of cowards who executed this terrorist act that will forever change our day to day lives.

The COT-BOM order may or may not have been a little out of whack but YHC still had numbers rattling around his head.

Moleskin:

-Tclaps to the Pax for a strong workout today. We kept a relentless pace as we went from point to point and really knocked out a workout that I was worried we wouldn’t be able to complete.

-It was good being back at the Crypt this morning after posting at Snakepit the last few workouts. There’s no place like home.

-Crypt really needs some leaders to step up and take the Q. I’m looking at you Simon Says, Detour and Freon. Send me a message if you are interested on doing a VQ and I will help you get started.
