Ramble Runs Half of the Long Run

10 pax show up to Ramble for a long run Wednesday. We missed seeing two of our regulars- Huffy and Bundy- who were out with the flu. But we were pleasantly surprised with a special guest appearance of Beano, who was back in town from Fort Bragg for a couple of days. There were optimal running conditions, with no rain and around 48 degrees.
Since YHS and half of the pax are planning on running the MGC Long Run this weekend, it seemed appropriate to incorporate as much of that route as possible. We started with our standard route to downtown: running down Devine, up Harden (through 5 Points), turning left on College (at the Chick-fil-A), over the railroad tracks, right on Gregg, left on Pendleton. That put us on the MGC race route. We then turned right on Marion, left on Gervais, right on Main, right on Lady, left on Marion, all the way to Richland, where we turned right, all the way to Gregg, where we turned right again, turned right on Laurel, left on Pickens, and took Pickens all the way to Blossom. We turned left and took Blossom back to Shandon, where we turned left on Woodrow, and then back home to SPC. Per our recent practice to encourage less ambitious pax, a 4 mile route was also advertised (after running on Lady, pass Marion and turn right on Pickens, left on Blossom, left on Woodrow to home).
YHS was surprised to see Promo running up Pickens, going the opposite direction as the rest of the pax (when he got to the last person, he turned around). Later, at the COT, he explained the reason he was late to the workout- he had to trap a rat in his house!

Announcements: Beano announced that he would Q Brickpile on Thursday. YHS asked for a show of hands for those doing the Long Run, and talked about where to meet.

We closed it out with a Ball of Man and a prayer.
