While #fartsackers abounded across F3 Columbia this morning, no doubt due to a late night of debauchery and parading the goal posts around Five Points in celebration of the Gamecocks season opening victory over UNC, three pax converged at DHS for a 5k route through Shandon.
We have seen a push recently throughout F3Columbia for each AO to schedule a semi-regular “PT test” that allows each pax to gauge their progress in meeting their personal fitness goals. Many pax have commented that without some type of consistent yard stick, it is difficult to determine whether you are improving, declining or plateauing in your fitness levels. In that spirit, we will reserve the first Friday of each month for a 5k route (3.1 miles). Pax will be encouraged to keep track of your personal time each month as a means of measuring your own progress. Hopefully you will begin see new PR’s when you run organized 5k’s and 10k’s around town.
Warm up by running from Dreher to intersection of Blossom St. and Amherst. This is the starting point for the 5k.
