Improbably, there were two separate, unrelated discussions of the band Styx this morning. Go figure. Strong morning at Amble, with 12 pax assembling at Dreher, followed by coffee at Egg’s Up Grill.
Conditions: 54 degrees and getting cooler. Perfect time of year for early morning runs.
The Thang:
Five Points Out and Back
Depart Dreher
Cut over to Blossom
Down Blossom to Five Points
Turn around at Walgreen’s for a 5k (3.1 mile) route
Going to Pickens St. would have been 4 miles (none ventured this far today)

Moleskin:
-Welcome FNG Bobby Daley, who plays lacrosse. This led to the nickname STX, after the sport’s equipment company that makes lacrosse sticks. However, this led to a prolonged discussion over how to spell the nickname. Is it spelled “Stx” or “Stix”? This ultimately digressed into a brief discussion of the band Stix, of “Mr. Roboto” and “Come Sail Away” fame.
-At the outset, it appeared that a fog had descended on the pax overnight, with everyone seemingly sluggishly arriving in the parking lot. Yeah, well, that didn’t last long. The lead group put their smoke boots on and stampeded down Blossom like
-Coffeeterria relocated from our traditional haunt of Dunkin’ Donuts to Egg’s Up Grill. As the number of pax grows, Egg’s Up may be getting more of our business. Great 2nd F. During coffee, Sisterwife made reference to driving around in his car as a younger man listening to an 8-track of Stix. 2nd Stix reference of the day.
Announcements:
