400 On – 200 Off

Five pax gathered on the Owen’s field track in the misty gloom to complete another speed workout with the Governor’s Cup Half looming in the near future.

Conditions: 56 degrees and 84% humidity with a few sprinkles.

The Thang: 

This week in Hal Higdon’s 1/2 marathon training program is to complete 10×400 repeat.  While the idea was to run the 400m at Race Pace, several of the pax completed the workout logging much faster times.  Beginning with a warm up 400m jog, then 400m ON at pace with 200m OFF jog a total of 10x400m laps, ending with a 400m jog.  Completion of the workout resulted in a 6600m distance, or 4.10 miles.  Great job by all.



Missing Fountainhead this morning, who completed 4 additional workouts at the F3 Ironproject, following our 13 mile Governor’s Cup Trial Friday morning, but he is excused for #muchneededrest.
