4 for a Dozen at #Amble

The VSF was planted with high expectations for the official #Amble #ShovelFlag currently in fabrication.

“Easy” Wednesdays always draw a crowd and today was no different as 12 Pax posted for a clearly misnamed #Amble.  With the 4th of July Born-In-The-USA race on the horizon, the now well known 4 mile loop around the Lakes Katherine took on new significance.  Sprints, hills, and long(ish) runs had left YHC unsure of what a 4 mile race pace was like and, in the spirit of collective misery, the call was made to find out just how much PAIN 4 miles could provide.

Conditions: 74 degrees, 88% humidity

The Thang:

4 Miles, more or less, depending on how lost the pax seem to get at the end.  The official version from the KBC parking lot: Downhill on Forest Ridge, Left on Quail, Right on Lockewood to a Right on Shady.  Run Shady Lane to Kilbourne and up the hill to a right hand turn on Sanford.  Right again on Kathwood Drive and up, down, up, down, up, down to the left turn onto Woodlake.  Burn it out back up to the  turn onto Carterhill and wrap it up in the KBC parking lot.

Unofficial versions include creative use of Trenholm, Forest Ridge and laps around the parking lot until everyone’s GPS officially reads 4 miles… regardless of the actual distance traveled.
