13 or so posted to #Ramble knowing full well 8 miles featuring a cross-river jaunt with a Whaley hill culmination was on tap. Thankfully for a few a 6 mile turnoff was available but even there Whaley couldn’t be avoided.
We tried a staggered departure but YHC was unable to confirm whether or not it worked because of a 5 minute train delay no one else experienced. All in all a solid day for all…
Conditions: 61 degrees
The Thang:
Depart SPC heading down Devine toward 5-Points. Right on Harden, left on College. Left on Gregg, right on Gibbes. Right on Barnwell, left on College. Run through the Horseshoe and turn right onto Sumter. Left on Gervais and continue across the river (the turnoff guys turned left onto Pulaski). Left on State Street, left onto Knox Abbot. Cross the river and turn left onto Huger. Right on Devine (wait 5 minutes for the train to clear if you’re YHC) and continue to Lincoln. Right on Lincoln and cross Blossom through the Greek Village. Continue to Whaley and turn left. Climb Whaley (#CrowdPleaser) and turn right onto Pickens. Left on Heyward and follow across Harden back into Shandon. Left onto Woodrow for the #RambleFinishStrong #segment.

- This was a bear of a route. The Whaley hill has a fun little false-peak that everyone particularly enjoyed.
- Trains….try to avoid them
