Clinging to something more powerful at Shawshank

With the completion of Easter this weekend, YHC looked back on the strength of Christ and the trials he went through to free us all from sin.  Quisenberry spoke about the anguish Jesus endured 2,000 years ago, at the Cross Ruck on Good Friday.  This is always powerful but in the times we are in now, YHC felt strongly that God puts things like the Cross Ruck in our lives for us to remember that there is something greater than us.  We must cling to these things and others in our lives that follow this path to keep us on the right road.  If we look hard enough, we will find these things and people that keep us close to God.  This workout was dedicated to that mindset.

Here’s how it went today:

Conditions:  Low 50’s, clear

Disclaimer/Prayer

Mosey to main field:

COP:

SSH x 10

LBAC x 10 each way

TTT x 10

Iron Hulk = 1:4 ratio of Merkins to Shoulder presses without a coupon

Non-alternating shoulder taps: Merkin pushing yourself up with enough force to lift you off the ground, tap your shoulders, get your hands back to the ground, then lower yourself down again.  Much like a Merkin clap.  We switched to both hands touching shoulders instead of just one.

Line up on goal line

  • Crawl:  Bear crawl to mid-field
  • Lunge rest of way to other side
  • Iron Hulk x 10
  • Non-alternating shoulder taps x 10 2 count
  • Gas pumps

Mosey to side field adjacent to main field

  • Rinse and Repeat CLING
  • Crawl = Crawl Bear
  • Non-alternating shoulder taps switched to both hands touching shoulders instead of just one (one count instead of 2 count)

Mosey to small stretch of grass between main field and tree-line:

  • Rinse and Repeat CLING from round 2
  • Crawl = Bear crawl

Cool down:

Mosey to shelter:

Incline, decline, dips back to back x 20 each x 3 rounds (30s rest between each round)

On your six for MARY:

  • LBC x 50
  • Iron Cross x 25

Recover

Devo:

Psalm 18:2

The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer,

My God, my rock, in whom I take refuge;

My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.

Clinging to something greater than yourself

YHC woke up this morning around 1:00 am and had an overwhelming feeling that he needed to discuss this subject.  Clinging to the Lord has always helped YHC in his spiritual world.  However, God also places people and things to cling to in our lives.  Things such as our spouses for emotional support, F3 for our brotherhood, exercise as our stress relief, etc.  Always look for things to cling to during the flood waters of our lives, keeping God at the center.

On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;

All other ground is sinking sand,

All other ground is sinking sand.
