First, let me thank Parks and Rec for getting me out to the Smokehouse. YHC remembers all too well the that first beatdown where the struggle was real. In the first few minutes YHC thought “Cool, we’re doing some “jumping jacks” and “stretching.” Woohoo arm circles!! 45 minutes will fly by and these guys seem nice… Then Rollo says to grab a block and describes The Thang for day. Wait Whaaat??? From this point on YHC can tell you the rest was somewhat of a blur. A hand full of respectable merkins and burpees were completed. Pretty sure YHC’s blocked weighed 100 pounds thereby completing very few “thrusters”. Never happier to run a lap around a track in my life! YHC had to basically roll out of the car at work and the rest of the day wasn’t much better. But from that day through this morning much improvement has been made in many respects. The Smokehouse has had an incredible impact on my life not just physically but in many aspects that didn’t even register as important at the beginning. The fellowship, friendships and faith have been encouraging for me . YHC is a better person today than a year ago. Being able to put 2 feet down on the floor at 4:25am to head out into the gloom is a blessing every time.
