Weather: 76 and MUGGY
7 pax beat the fartsack and did the harder thing showing up.
We’ve been doing 11’s all week so YHC was tired of doing them so he chose something harder…12’s. After all, today is the 12th.

The Thang:
Head to the toy box and grab a block. Tote them out to the band practice field. Line up on the sideline.
11 burpees…backwalk to the other sideline..1 American Hammer…backwalk across the field to the starting sideline. Rinse and repeat but with 10/2, 9/3…….1/11.
Pretty soon the calves were burning.
Plank for 6 when complete. After the 6 planked, we waited in the plank position. YHC kept calling “Wait.” Pax were interpreting it as “weight.” Too bad, so sad. See the Devo.
Next round: Curls for the girls and BBSU. Only this time carry the block the whole time. Try not to let it touch the ground even when you do BBSU. A real crowdpleaser. Plank for 6.
Too bad time ran out. There may have been some bear crawls thrown in for good measure.
Great work men! Not sure if the field was wet from dew or dropping sweat.
Announcements:
8/26 – pre-Stomp the Swamp convergence. It will be a leg friendly day. Stomp the Swamp to follow.
We need Q’s. It was mentioned that if you don’t like burpees, sign up to Q.
Reach out to pax that aren’t here. We need to show we care. Reaching out is a duty to everyone here. We’re here to help each other get better. Do your part.

Devo:
Psalm 130:1-8 Out of the depths I cry to you, Lord; Lord, hear my voice. Let your ears be attentive to my cry for mercy. If you, Lord, kept a record of sins, Lord, who could stand? But with you there is forgiveness, so that we can, with reverence, serve you. I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits, and in his word I put my hope. I wait for the Lord more than watchmen wait for the morning, more than watchmen wait for the morning. Israel, put your hope in the Lord, for with the Lord is unfailing love and with him is full redemption. He himself will redeem Israel from all their sins.
Forgiveness should be appreciated via reverence followed by service which may include waiting. Our hope is in the Lord and His Word. That’s not hope like “I hope I win the lottery.” It’s hope as in “I hope the sun rises tomorrow.” Our hope in God is a certainty.
