Graveyard takes one down, passes it around

A few weeks ago Bulldog came over to The Hollow to lead the workout, and encouraged everyone to make a trip over to the eastside.  YHC took note and promptly signed up to Q.  That day was today and I brought my “beers on the wall / block” routine that has been use a couple of time on the westside.  It’s always fun watching the curious faces when the pvc pipe sections come into play.  Here is how it went down.

Weather: low 40s, wet ground (we stayed on damp concrete)

1 minute warning, intro, disclaimer, no FNGs, prayer

We moseyed through the gates and towards the press box area where the blocks and pvc were set up.  I fiddled with my small radio for a few seconds.  WOMG-FM was the chosen “playlist” for today.  But, while reception in my car was fine, the station didn’t come through too good where we were.  I scanned for a decent radio station then quickly opted to ditch the music idea.  There we did a quick warmup consisting of:

  • 10x SSHs IC
  • 10x IWs IC
  • 10x TTTs IC
  • (or something like that)

After the warmup we started the routine of block and “beers on the wall”…

  • Mosey to your block.  First block exercise is 10x Block Jump Burpees
  • Mosey to the pvc.  10 bottles of beer: The PAX line up side-by-side, plank, relay merkin 10 pieces of PVC down the line where you grab a piece of pvc with your left hand, merkin, roll it to you right hand, merkin, pass it to the guy on the right, get another from your left.  Rinse and repeat until all pieces were passed down.  Set one piece off to the side
  • Mosey to your block.  Next block exercise is 20x Block Thrusters
  • Mosey to the pvc.  9 bottles of beer (with the pvc going back the other way)
  • Mosey to your block.  Next block exercise is 30x Block Bear Hug Squats
  • Mosey to the pvc.  8 bottles of beer (with the pvc going back the other way)
  • Mosey to your block.  Next block exercise is 40x Block CFTGs
  • Mosey to the pvc.  7 bottles of beer (with the pvc going back the other way)
  • Mosey to your block.  Next block exercise is 50x Block Toilet Squats
  • Mosey to the pvc.  6 bottles of beer (with the pvc going back the other way)
  • Mosey to your block.  Next block exercise is 60x Block Overhead Presses
  • Mosey to the pvc.  5 bottles of beer (with the pvc going back the other way)
  • Mosey to your block.  Next block exercise is 70x Block Bent Over Rows
  • Mosey to the pvc.  4 bottles of beer (with the pvc going back the other way)
  • Mosey to your block.  Next block exercise is 80x LBCs
  • Mosey to the pvc.  3 bottles of beer (with the pvc going back the other way)
  • Mosey to your block.  Next block exercise is 90x Sumo Block Squats
  • Mosey to the pvc.  2 bottles of beer (with the pvc going back the other way)
  • Mosey to your block.  Next block exercise is 100 yards Overhead Block Carry out and back and to the block pile
  • Mosey to the pvc.  1 bottle of beer (with the pvc going back the other way)

With the blocks returned and a few minutes to spare we did a round robin of ab exercises with each PAX calling 20-30 reps of…

  • Flutter Kicks
  • LBCs
  • Freddie Mercury
  • BBSUs
  • Iron Crosses
  • Hip Thrusters (think these are called Jane Fondas?)
  • Heel Touches
  • LBCs
  • (or something like that)

We wrapped up and finished on time at the shovel flag for the Count-o-rama, Name-o-rama, Announcements, Prayer.  T-claps to the PAX for killing it this morning.
