Burpees and (S)miles

I always had it in mind that I would do the burpee mile / burpee mile challenge for my first Q, and so when the opportunity arose sort of last minute, it was an easy decision to make.  Though after some discussion prior with Cryptonite’s other AOQs it was decided we’d stretch it out a little further since we had a full hour.  Fun!

CONDITIONS: Cool and overcast

THE THANG:  Since we weren’t exactly sure how long this would take, we didn’t bother with a warm up with this one, we just dove straight into it:

100 burpees, run 1 mile

50 burpees, run 1 mile

Typically this is where the challenge would end, but since we had more time, and it was Cryptonite after all, we extended it to another round of 25 burpees and one more mile.  After a very brief “reverse plank” session to catch our breath we went straight into LBCs while waiting on the 6.  Then it was decided we’d add one more modified round with 12 burpees and a fast lap around the parking lot, for a total of 187 burpees and over 3 miles.  From there we did another 100 LBCs and then some Russian Twists for good measure to close us out.  All in all, everyone had a pretty good time, so I’m thinking we’ll be adding this into the permanent rotation along with Murph.  You’re welcome.
