Bur-brick-ee

Weather: Humid and 64 degrees

When a fellow Jumanji member tweeted to the Pax that he had to cancel being the Q Columbo almost immediately volunteered to which one Pax member stated, “Now I’m Scared.”  The Q announced, after the disclaimer and opening prayer that the Siren Alert was in effect (10 burpees if a siren is heard in the area.  A Tribute to First Responders).

The Thang:

-Mosey 1 lap around the parking lot with high knees, butt kicks and carryover.

-20 SS hops in cadence

-20 Thru the tunnel in cadence

-20 Little arm circles in cadence (10 each direction).

-20 LBCs in cadence

-20 Toe touches (Ray Charles) in cadence

-20 Flutter Kicks in cadence

-Mosey to the brick pile for Bur-brick-ee fest with concrete block.

-Place blocks at fence, 2 rounds of parking space shuffle (shuffle sideways utilizing two parking spaces and sprint to other row of parking spaces).

-Bear crawl to block perform 5 Bur-brick-ees (basically a burpee in which you hold the block with your hands and instead of jumping do a shoulder press).

-2 more rounds of parking space shuffle and 5 merkins.

-2 rounds of parking space shuffle rinse and repeat 10 Bur-brick-ee , 10 merkins, 15, 20, 15, 10 and 5 (a total of 80 each).

-20 curls for the girls with small bricks in cadence

-20 shoulder presses in cadence

-20 bent over rows.

Afterward the pax were satisfied and ready to take on the day ahead.  Great work and effort by the pax.  The Q was exhausted afterward.  There was no siren alert thus no burpee tribute for the First Responders.

Announcements:  Blue Ridge Relay is looking for team members (contact Tuff Guy if interested), Fire truck pull, and quarry run are taking place Saturday.  I light of the tragedy in which a participant in a 1/2 marathon collapsed and died over the weekend pax were encouraged, despite going to regular workouts, to get a yearly physical from a doctor.  Pax were also encouraged to EH additional pax as the numbers for Jumanji have been down.  Crime prevention tip for the day:  One Pax advised that a member of a workout group in Columbia had left their keys in what they thought was an inconspicuous area and subsequently their car was stolen and later found in Rock Hill. Be a part of the solution not a part of the problem.
