YHC has wanted to take a stab at Qing the Speed version of Stride for a while, so when he saw a blank spot on the Q list he figured why not now. So off he went into the gloom to work on getting faster with the other Stride pax.

The Thang:
First exercise, mosey to the bottom of Cemetery Hill with a mixture of butt kicks and high knees on the way there. Quick stretch with a little bit of chatter. A joke was made, “I thought you were going to make us run up the hill backwards”. This joke was followed by a big grin from YHC, because that’s exactly what was coming. Backwards running uphill suicides. They say running up hills makes you faster, and running backwards makes you faster. So logic leads you to believe that running up hills backwards makes you twice as fast! Right???
Run backwards to middle of first set of lights, normal run down. Run backwards to next set of lights, normal run down. Run backwards all the way to the top (feel the burn), normal run down.
Mosey to super plush football field for the speed/agility version of the Evil 8.
Start at the corner by the goal line, run to opposite corner of the other goal line, side shuffle across goal line, run to opposite corner of the original goal line, side shuffle to original corner. Rinse and repeat for a total of four rounds.
Mosey to track for some HIIT. Mosey turns and sprint straights for a total of six laps (fast twitch/slow twitch muscle confusion type stuff).
Last exercise. Line up at starting line on track, sprint down the straight, then sprint back up the field. Try to catch the pax running in front of you. Each pax had approximately a 15-20 yd lead time. Mosey back to flag.
