Kettlebell B-I-N-G-O

Conditions: 72 degrees with a slight breeze

First – let me say that it was good to see Melt Down, back from the injured reserve list. The guy pushes himself and I like it.

11 Pax (or should I say Players) came to the shores of Lake Murray this morning to play a game of Kettlebell Bingo. The participants were swinging all sorts of forged steel and cast iron. The weights ranged from G.E.D’s massive 45lb bell (nicknamed the “tumor”) to Good Hand’s 15lb bell (which we are pretty sure that he borrowed from his wife).

In all fairness, Good Hands was sporting a 40lb ruck on his back, so his lack of manliness in Kettlebell choices, can be offset a bit. ( I am joking here, as throwing around even a 15lb bell for 45 minutes is not an easy task)

Warm Up:

  • Side Straddle Hop (I/C – 4 count) x 20
  • Through The Tunnel (I/C – 4 count) x 20 – slow and concentration on stretching the hamstrings
  • Little arm Circles (I/C – 4 count) – 15 clockwise and 15 counter clockwise
  • Imperial Walker (I/C – 4 count) x 10 – with kettlebell on the chest

The main course began, by passing every player a B-I-N-G-O card, with the following coordinating instructions:

Lamont would randomly pull all numbers, from his colorful Vera Bradley make up pouch, that he borrowed from his fiancé to use as a carrying case for the event (don’t judge please)

If the player had the number on his card, then they got to call the exercise and everyone would perform that number of Reps.  For Example G-59  would mean that the player with that square would call “BINGO” and then “Chest Presses” and everyone would preform 59 reps of chest presses prior to the next pull.

If more than one player had the number on their card, then both (or three, or four) would divide the reps evenly and then call their own exercise. For Example N-40 resulted in 4 players calling “BINGO” This means all four players would get to call 10 reps of their own exercise.

The Thang:

The exercise choices this morning consisted of the following: (all were used)

  • Curl (one arm and both arm curl)
  • Merkins
  • Goblet Squats
  • Dead lifts
  • NAPALMS
  • Big Boy Sit Ups with kettle bell extension at the top.
  • Military Press
  • Curl
  • BURPEE
  • Tricep Extension
  • Tricep Dips
  • CALF RAISES
  • Kettlebell Swings
  • Kettlebell Rows.

The B-I-N-G-O numbers that were pulled were as follows:

  • N-44
  • G-51
  • O-71
  • N-40
  • B-11
  • G-47
  • G-48
  • N-39
  • O-74
  • N-34
  • I-22
  • I-24

This totals 505 reps, that every man painfully suffered through, in order to make themselves better – It’s not your grandma’s BINGO

BOM – The morning ended with a devotion centered around Proverbs 3:6 “In all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight”

We turn to God in life changing moments, but do we seek his face daily, and constantly with the little things also. It is a slippery slope, once we think that we have things under control on our own.
