It’s been a while, but I still remember how to do this

With life getting in the way over the past few months, YHC hasn’t been able to commit to stepping up to lead the great men of Depot recently, but that doesn’t mean I had forgotten how to give a proper #downpainment for the 16 pax that were able to beat the fartsack and showed up for their daily dose.  Little time was wasted and continuous movement was on the agenda for the morning.

The Thang:

Disclaimer, followed by circling up in the parking lot.

  • Overhead arm claps x 10 (IC)

  • Mountain climbers x 10 (IC)

  • Squats x 10 (IC)
  • Merkins x 5 (IC)

Mosey to the block pile, grab one of the shiny new cinder blocks and tote it to the bottom of the entrance hill.

  • 10 burpees, 20 curls, 30 squats – then run to the top of the hill and back.
  • Rinse and repeat for a total of 10 rounds
  • Total count: 100 burpees, 200 curls, 300 squats

The mumble chatter started pretty slow as everyone must have been conserving energy, or trying to focus on how they were going to get through all 10 rounds in the remaining 40 or so minutes, but as the laps progressed, the mumble chatter picked up as the men were catching their breath between sets.  It was here that YHC found out just how much the group disliked the burppees.  With that in mind, the men pressed forward and a solid group of men finished all 10 rounds.

Put the blocks back up and mosey to the parking lot for Mary in the few minutes left before time expired.  At this point, YHC was pretty gassed, but I think we did some flutter kicks and LBC’s.

Mosey back to the shovel flag for the count and name-a-rama.

Moleskin:

It felt good to be back leading the awesome men of Depot this morning.  Work was definitely done, and even though the workout wasn’t very creative, a proper downpainment was made for the day.  Shoutout to Rebar from Lexington for posting with us while renting a lake house for the week.

Announcements:

  • Q school this Saturday at Depot.  Show up and learn why we do what we do when leading a workout.  Even if you’ve Q’d many times, you can always hone and fine-tune your skills.
  • There is a raffle for one of the NoxGear running vests.  All proceeds will go to Cheech’s family.  Entry is $5 and winners will be selected at the 4 year anniversary convergence at Strut.  Pre-blast here: https://www.f3midlands.com/other/noxgear-raffle-for-cheech
