A Pilgrimage with Phonebooth

13 pax made their way into the gloom at Depot for a Pilgrimage workout with YHC. Today’s workout would be about traveling in teams of four to far away places and finding out what had to be done when you got there, just like the pilgrims. Although we didn’t have to make friends with any native americans on our various journeys, we were working together as teams and motivating each other to keep going.

Conditions: 42 deg, very windy, and wet

The THANG:
With 13 pax on hand, we broke off into two groups of four and one group of five. On each team of four, two men would grab two bricks a piece, the other two men would grab a cinder block a piece, and they would all meet at the Playground for further instruction from YHC. Once all teams were present, YHC presented the workout and the rules. The rules are as follows:
1. You must run to each station carrying your bricks and blocks. Speed does not matter, just don’t quit. Stay together as a team.
2. Every time you come back to the Playground, each man must do 10 Pull-ups and 10 Dips before you go to the next station.
3. Bricks and Blocks can never touch the ground except for at the Playground or if the station specifies that you must use it to the complete the exercise. This means your F3 Brothers must hold the blocks/bricks while you complete the exercise. Your F3 brothers can carry your bricks/blocks between stations if you need them to.
4. Each man must complete the exercise at each station.
5. Each station will have a zip lock bag with the exercise instructions inside and it will have a Chem Lite to mark the location of the exercise as well as assist with reading the instructions.
6. Keep your F3 Brothers motivated and focused.

Stations:
1. Run to Suck Hill (to the right of the main bldg) and with a brick in each hand, run up the hill, do five Burpees, run back down. Do this four times for a total of 20 Burpees
Run back to the Playground, do 10 pull-ups and 10 dips
2. Run to the Dumpsters off Bird Rd. by the DOT facility, do 30 T-claps with Bricks
Run back to the Playground, do 10 pull-ups and 10 dips
3. Run to the middle of the Track Field, do 50 Iron Crosses
Run back to the Playground, do 10 pull-ups and 10 dips
4. Run to the Far Right corner of the Big/Main Soccer field and do 30 alternating merkins with a Cinder block
Run back to the Playground, do 10 pull-ups and 10 dips
5. Run to the BB&T Gates and do 50 curls with cinder blocks
Run back to the Playground, do 10 pull-ups and 10 dips
6. Run to the Left Soccer Goal on the Standalone Soccer field, do 50 BBS
Run back to the Playground, do 10 pull-ups and 10 dips
7. Run to the Basketball Court, do 50 reps of boxing with a brick in each hand
Run back to the Playground, do 10 pull-ups and 10 dips
8. Run to the Near Right Corner of the Big/Main Soccer Field, do 40 Atomic Sit-ups
Run back to the Playground, do 10 pull-ups and 10 dips
9. Run to the intersection of the Driveway and Bird Rd, do 30 Derkins (Diamond)

10. Run to the Right Soccer Goal on the Standalone Soccer Field, do 50 Russian Twists with a brick in each hand

(Given the 45 min limit, we only made it halfway through the workout. I do think this would be a good prep workout for Mud Run)

Mosey to the Shovel Flag

Moleskin:
Today was good a workout. We definitely need more time to complete it. I hope everyone has a Happy and Safe Thanksgiving. Please pray for our soldiers that are away from their families today.

Devotional: Radical Gratitude by Rick Warren
Thanksgiving is not supposed to be a day that we celebrate once a year. It is to be a spiritual habit of the radical believer. The more deeply you understand God’s love, the more grateful you’re going to be.

So what does it mean to be radically grateful?

The Bible says in 1 Thessalonians 5:18, “Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus” (NIV). That’s radical gratitude. In all circumstances give thanks, because it’s God’s will for you.

You can thank God in every circumstance because God is in control. He can bring good out of evil. He can turn around the stupid mistakes you make. No matter what happens, God isn’t going to stop loving you. There are a hundred things to be thankful for in any circumstance, even when the circumstances stink.

Radical gratitude — being thankful in all circumstances — is God’s will because it creates fellowship.

What do I mean by that? Gratitude always builds deeper relationships between you and other people and between you and God.
