A New Phase of F3

YHC apologizes for such a late post of the back blast. His employer has kept his so busy his brain barely has had time to process the day much less recount the early morning gloom. But nevertheless here he is for your edification! YHC was a little worried that there would be a severe lack of participation on such a cold morning and especially it being at 5am of all times. But alas! Here came two cars screeching into the parking lot at 4:57am! That bodes well. However YHC had planned a little soccer-especial for Turning Point yet the numbers did not allow for the normal craziness I plan. That’s okay as yours truly is great at improvising! We continued to follow thru with the madness anyways.

Now, it’s time to mosey to the soccer field….

Seeing as we have only 3 men to play with one ball, the game today is “Goal Kicks”. After a very short explanation of a goal kick, the object was simple. Place the ball on the edge of the box and each man takes a turn kicking it as hard as he can and before he kicks it, an exercise is called. Once the ball is kicked, everyone sprints to the ball, does the called exercise/count and then sprints back to do it all over again. It went something like this:

First Kick: 15 merkins

Second Kick: 50 squats

Third Kick: 25 LBCs

Fourth Kick: 10 Burpees

Fifth Kick: 20 Heel Touches

Sixth Kick: 7 Burpees

Seventh Kick: Bear Crawl to the ball

Eighth Kick: Shuffle Planks (Cha cha cha)

Ninth Kick: 7 Burpees

Tenth Kick: 25 Merkins

At this point we were very near the bricks. Might as well pay them a visit. What a mistake!

Mosey back to the cars for some Iron Crosses, Russian Twist, and LBCs. GO CORE!

At this point it was time to wrap it up for the day and get ready to tackle the real life ahead of us all. I mentioned at Treadmill’s arrival how there are those days where Q’ing is just so unattractive. There are days where YHC doesn’t want to get up, go outside, and much less move. So leading the men around outside in the gloom can be tougher some days than others. But when 28 degree weather is added to the equation the prospect of showing up becomes that much harder. But what I’ve found is that it isn’t always the workout that draws me and keeps me going. It’s knowing that there are other like minded men who will be there to encourage me. They will be there to push me harder than I’ve ever pushed myself and for that I can’t imagine not showing up. Despite my desire to fartsack, leading other men to be better and becoming better myself gets me out the door every time. Until next time fellas!!

Prayers:

Higgins Mother (Mother-in-law?) needs prayers for shoulder surgery.

Eilene: She is dealing with the ovarian cancer but we know that God can do wonders. The doctors are trying to give her 5 yrs, but God can grant her eternity! He gets all the glory!

December 19th is the F3 Lexington Christmas party. The email/survey has gone out. Please let me know if you haven’t received one.

Go Ruck: Prayers and support for these men!
