14 pax celebrated YHC’s #BirthdayQWeek with Indian running, a visit to #Martha, and some dice of questionable fairness.

Conditions: Mid 60s, breezy, perfect

The Thang:

Mosey to corner of Chambly

  • Through the tunnel x10 IC
  • Little baby arm circles x10 IC (front & back)
  • Calf raises x10 IC
  • SSH x20 IC (waiting for @Silver Bullet)
  • Indian run back to AO to pick up @Silver Bullet (got tired of waiting)

Now that the easy stuff is out of the way, explain the rules of the workout.

YHC has 3 of those fancy D&D dice: one with 4 sides (d4), one with 6 sides (d6), one with 20 sides (d20).
One of the pax rolls all 3 dice.

  • d6 is the exercise
    • 1: merkins
    • 2: LBC
    • 3: squats
    • 4: Carolina dry docks
    • 5: mountain climbers
    • 6: dealer’s choice (pick any exercise you want)
  • d20 is the number of reps
  • d4 tells you how many Indian run laps the pax will be running after the exercise (1 lap = all pax sprint once)

Example: d6 = 2, d20 = 12, d4 = 3
20 squats OYO, then line up and double applesauce Indian run until all pax have sprinted 3 times. Repeato.

The run was in the general direction of #Martha (surprise!) and squats came up an awful lot.

While at #Martha, might as well do a ladder (kind of). Roll d6 twice and d20 once. d6 tells you what exercises to do at the bottom and top, d20 is the number of reps.

This time the exercises on the dice are:

  • 1: #WorstMerkinsEver
  • 2: V-ups
  • 3: Tuck jumps
  • 4: Monkey humpers
  • 5: Peter Parkers

6 is still dealer’s choice.

  • Round 1 (dice 1, 4, 10): run down, #WorstMerkinsEver x10 (#CrowdPleaser) at the bottom, monkey humpers x10 at the top
  • Round 2 (dice 1, 5, 3): run down, #WorstMerkinsEver x3 at the bottom, Peter Parkers x3 at the top

Time is short, so Indian run back to AO using the second list of exercises. #WMEs may have come up on the dice a few more times but YHC accidentally-on-purpose kicked them over

Finish up in the parking lot with some V-ups and burpees x12 (for @McLovin).

Moleskine:

  • Thanks to the pax for humoring YHC’s somewhat complicated (some might say Jar-Jar-esque) workout. It looked good on paper but it was probably too heavy on the running and too light on other exercises. No one got lost on the mean streets of #BeVA though.
  • YHC planned to call 20 burpees if the dice ever came up all 4s (for birthday #44). Luckily that never happened.
  • A special thanks to @McLovin, @Huffy, @Drive-By, and @OC for crossing the creek to help YHC celebrate.
