Veterans Day Workout at Swampfox

AO Q Polo asked YHC to give the pax a workout to commemorate Veterans Day and 11 pax showed up to see what YHC had in store.  They found a workout that was heavy on Merkins, Squats, and running.  All told the Pax covered 2.9 miles this morning and completed over 200 Merkins and over 150 squats.

Run out the parking lot down Clemson circle up at corner of Clemson/ Erskine:

  • Explain origin of Veterans Day as Armistice Day after WWI and why all exercises will be done in multiples of 11
  • SSH x 11 (IC)
  • Merkins x 11 (IC)
  • Squats x 22 (IC)
  • Flutter Kicks x 33 (IC)

Run down Clemson, right on Trenholm, left on Lonsford Drive – stop at bottom of hill:

  • 11 Merkins at bottom of hill
  • Sprint up hill to corner of Lonsford/ Brockwall
  • 11 Merkins
  • Sprint back down hill
  • 11 Merkins
  • Shoulder press until 6 arrives
  • 11 Squats at bottom of hill
  • Sprint up hill to corner of Lonsford/ Brockwall
  • 11 Squats
  • Sprint back down hill
  • 11 Squats
  • Shoulder press until 6 arrives
  • 11 Sit Ups at bottom of hill

Run up Clemson and down into the lower field – line up at bottom of Hamburger Hill:

  • Remind Pax that the Soldiers of the 101st Airborne took Hamburger Hill in Vietnam after assaulting the hill five times  (confession: YHC has no idea how many assaults up the hill it took, but does know that the 101st did take the hill after intense fighting)
