Thunder visits The Mission with Special Guest DawnStrike

April 22nd marked the second week Thunder was invited back to the Mission. DawnStrike agreed to co-Q and everyone’s favorite mumblechatter BetaMax showed up only 1.5 hours after Qing Dawnstrike. Thanks to the Thunder pax who came by.

Warmup

SSH IC x 20
Imperial Walkers IC x 20
Squat IC x 20
Air Press IC x 20
Little Baby Arm Circles IC

Mosey to the Amphitheater and partner up for a Dora 123:
Partner 1 – 100 Merkins while Partner 2 runs to top of stairs, followed by 200 LBCs and 300 squats. Only a few pax made it to the start of the squats before YHC called it for time so we could make it to the next workout.

Mosey back up the top of the steps and around the fountain over to the retaining walls. Climb the walls and do 1 burpee at top, then 2 burpees at top of next wall, etc to 5 burpees. Back to the field where BetaMax took over:

BetaMax led us to Taylor Street for a Jacob’s Ladder up the hill. 1 merkin at bottom and 10 merkins at top, then back down and reverse the numbers. We started this just in time to see the first finishers from the Heart & Sole 5 Miler come flying down the hill.

Back to the flag and circle up for COT.

What are you thankful for?

MOLESKIN

One of my favorite parts of the Mission AO is that the focus isn’t on the fitness, and that there is such a strong fellowship component. It is great to show up and listen to these guys talk about their lives and what this organization means to them. Someone mentioned after the workout that 2 of the guys in the Program said they “loved F3.” That is what I am thankful for – that this organization extends beyond races and CSAUPs and penetrates deeper into the core of someone’s life.
