The Land of a Thousand Side Straddle Hops

8 men threw off the #Fartsack to get after it at #Battle with Hustler and YHC.  Many of the Battle regulars were Leaping this weekend. This may be the shortest BackBlast in Battle history, as we kept it simple, but hard.

Conditions: mild and very humid

The Thang: Disclaimer and brief COP by Pondo. SSH x 25, Merkins x 10, Squats x 20, all IC.  YHC up first.  Fast Mosey to the top of the mall parking deck for a #BearCrawlAMRAPBeatDown. At top of ramp, BBSitups x 100, bear crawl to bottom of ramp, Merkins x 50, sideways bear crawl to top of ramp.  R and R continuously until time to fast mosey back to campus for Hustler’s SSH Extravaganza.  This was simple, but tough.

Hustler lead the pax through a cadence filled SSH challenge.  In sets of 50 IC, with the final set being 100 IC, Hustler had the pax perform 1,000 SSH.  20 seconds rest in between sets.  Followed up with a Merkin/Arm raise ladder: 1:4 from 1 – 10 Merkins and 4 – 40 arm raises. Just when the pax’ arms were at a breaking point, Hustler called LAC’s forward and backwards x 10 IC, then some more arm raises x 20 IC, then some more LAC’s until arms were about to fall off.  Jail Break to COT.

BOM by Hustler.

Moleskin: Battle continues to offer the hardest 60 minutes of the week.  It will only continue to get better and harder with Splinter as AOQ.  Come out and get some.

Announcements: Splinter has taken over from Chaser as AOQ and will certainly leave his mark on Columbia’s toughest workout.  Thank you Chaser and welcome Splinter.  We look forward to making Battle even better.  Splinter has plans for monthly challenges and the introduction of implements.  All Midlands Pax are welcome to join Woodshed for a workout at the VA in the gloom on 11/10 to honor Veterans.  Deets to follow on twitter.
