On the 7th Day Before Christmas…

11 pax showed up in the foggy gloom for a beatdown and a caroling session broke out.

Conditions: 60 and misty. Pax were overheard mock-complaining about freezing cold December workouts. All present were in shorts and T-shirts.

The Thang:

COP (all IC)

  • Imperial Walkers x25 as if you haven’t had enough Star Wars lately
  • Butt kickers x20
  • LAC (forward) x15
  • Great Big Arm Circles (backward) x15
  • Overhead Clap x15
  • Mountain Climbers x20
  • Mosey to the Cage, grab a block
  • Cusack to school entrance where YHC has a list of 12 exercises covered up
  • Uncover #1 and perform. Then uncover #2 and perform #2 followed by #1. Repeato all the way up to #12. If that sounds confusing, it works just like a Christmas carol you may have heard.

For the 12 days of Smokemas Pipeline gave to me:

  • 12 Bench Presses
  • 11 Monkey Humpers
  • 10 Russian Twists (2ct)
  • 9 Curls for the Girls
  • 8 Hello Dollys
  • 7 Goblet Squats
  • 6 Big Boy Sit-ups
  • (sing out when you get to this part…)
  • 5 BUUU-RRRR-PEEEEEES
  • 4 Iron Crosses
  • 3 Dive Bombers
  • 2 Plank Walks (around your block), and
  • A Lap Around the Track

(YHC planned on using the regular track, but after reading Beacon’s Tuesday BB, decided to go a little easy on the pax, save some time, and used the shorter loop in front of the school instead.)

Small Plankorama while waiting on the 6

Cusack (if you’re On-Ramp, do it one-handed… impressive, dude) to put up blocks

Moleskine:

  • This ended up being a good solid full-body beatdown. Rep counts look low on paper, but add in all those laps, and the constant motion with no rest… #WorkWasDone.
  • Notably absent were both Chewy (YHC unsuccessfully attempted an EH late last night) and Pondo (who may be hiding from Chewy after receiving his new nickname “Tonya Harding”). Hopefully the knee is OK and, well, Pondo’s earned some time away.
  • Hard to believe this was just YHC’s second time with the honor of leading the Woodshed men. That says something about 1) the large number of qualified pax in the Q rotation; 2) the quality of YHC’s previous Q; or 3) the degree of difficulty of YHC’s previous Q. YHC will take options 1 and 3. Regardless, it’s always a pleasure. Even when the pax attempt to sing.

Announcements:

  • Showgirl retires from the Air Force today after 20 years of service. Many thanks. Watch the Friendly Skies, rumor has it he may be flying for Delta next.
  • New Q rotation will be out soon. Featuring more co-Qs to give pax more opportunities to lead. Watch your email or the pole.
  • White Elephant workout on Xmas Eve, stay tuned for the details.
  • Hunt down those pax who haven’t posted in awhile and EH them upside the head.
  • Christmas Picnic for the Mission this Friday at Finlay Park. Get with Robber for the details.
  • Q 101 at the Mission this Saturday at 0830 at Finlay Park.
  • Business as usual on Christmas Eve, but NO workouts on Christmas Day.
  • Convergence on January 2nd, stay tuned for the details.
