Non-explosive Smokefest

Conditions: Wonderful, breezy, 60ish

YHC was a bit worried about his hamstring after a little incident this weekend while running some trails and decided to avoid anything too “explosive”. The PAX reminded YHC that he needn’t worry about being explosive, ain’t happening anyway! Touché! Alas, YHC will have to save displaying his impressive middle-aged athleticism another Q. Workout was tough but left some gas in the tank for tonight’s happy hour.

Warm-up

  • 20 SSH IC
  • 20 BB Situps OYO
  • 20 Reverse Crunches bka Pulse-ups
  • 20 In and outs
  • 20 American Hammers
  • Everyone low plank, go around the circle each person doing a burpee X 2
  • Everyone mountain climbers, go around the circle each person doing a burpee X 2

Mile loop run, turn left, turn left, turn left, etc. meet back at flag.

YHC debated the night before on bricks vs. blocks, settled on bricks.

Grab a set of bricks and head to the teacher parking lot at SF. There the Pax found YHC had strategically arranged 4 cones for a popular little routine called “four corners”.

PAX formed 4 groups and each headed to a corner to get started.

Corner 1, curls. Corner 2, presses. Corner 3 tri-exts. Corner 4 merkins. Sprint the long sides, squat walk the short sides. 20 reps each exercise, rinse and repeat.

Another mile loop run, turn right, turn right, turn right, etc. meet back at the parking lot. Grab bricks, return them and finish exactly on time.
