Mentoring Information Session at The Mission

In the past two months, thanks to the Midlands pax, the Mission has turned into a truly amazing workout; We’ve raised money for the OGM, donated hundreds of items to the men of the Mission, and have been given the opportunity to get to know these men who have committed to getting their lives on track.

It’s time for us to take the next step.

As part of the Recovery program, the leadership at the OGM seeks to give every man in the Recovery program a mentor. The guys, who have completed the first two phases of the program need a man outside of the OGM they can talk to and learn from. They need someone to bounce ideas off of and to seek advice from. That man may be you.

The commitment is not small, but it’s manageable. I’d expect that you’d need to be able to commit at least an hour a week to spending time with your mentee, Mentors can meet their mentees at or near the OGM for coffee or a meal to talk about (or maybe just listen) to the challenges going on in the mentee’s life.

If you are interested in learning more about the mentoring program, please join us this Thursday for lunch (12:00) at the Oliver Gospel Mission (1100 Taylor St) for a information session about their mentoring session.

This is just an information session to learn about the program, if there is chance that you may be interesting in helping transform these men’s lives on a more individual level, I encourage you to attend to hear the pitch.

We’re having Zoe’s cater lunch, please bring $5 to cover it.
