Capital-To-Cauldron Torch Run

Join Law Enforcement officers from across the state as they carry the “Flame of Hope” from the State House to the opening ceremonies of the Special Olympics ( http://so-sc.org/about-us/ ) Summer Games at Fort Jackson.  Runners will run an approximate 7.5 mile route through Columbia ending at the Soloman Center on Fort Jackson where the cauldron will be lit to signify the opening of the Summer Games.

This isn’t a race, but an opportunity to participate in a nice easy mosey that shows support for individuals with intellectual, physical, and/or a combination of the two disabilities.  It is truly a unique experience.

The run starts at the corner of Gervais Street and Sumter Street 6:15 pm Friday May 1st and will arrive at the Soloman Center on Fort jackson around 7:30 pm.

Everybody is invited to participate in this worthwhile and touching experience.

This is a fundraiser for Special Olympics South Carolina, but it doesn’t cost you anything to run. If you would like to buy a Torch Run shirt, they are available for purchase. Cotton sizes small to extra-large are $12. A dry fit style is also available in sizes small to extra-large for $20. (I need to know what size and type of shirt you would like NO LATER than lunchtime on Wednesday April 29)

If you aren’t able to participate, but would still like to make a donation please follow this link to make a secure online donation ( http://www.firstgiving.com/fundraiser/jonathancalore/coast-to-the-capital-torch-run ) or I will to be happy to meet you for cash or check donations.
