Burpee Variations in the Rain at #Thunder

For those pax who haven’t posted to #Thunder in a while, Hand Middle School constructed a long covered walkway adjacent to the field. This cover provides the perfect place to workout in a rain event. YHC didn’t want to rob the pax of a #warstory after waking up and posting in the rain. So while we initally gathered under the canopy, we quickly #embracedthesuck and got a little, well, a lot, wet. Good times were had by the 14 pax who posted this morning. These guys discovered a new method for completing the #burpee. This is how it happened:

The Thang:
Warm up lap around the parking lot, then straight to the field.
Line up on the edge of the field for Round 1:

5 Broad Jump Burpees.
– Circle Up –
5 OYO Burpees
5 OYO Clurpees (Burpee with a clap merkin, credit: Paperboy)

5 OYO #DiamondDavidLeeRoth Burpee (A Burpee with a diamond merkin followed by your best David Lee Roth Jump).

5×4 IC Tricept Merkins. This is a merkin with your hands placed close to the body, near the belly button. Arms bend parallel to the body instead of perpendicular.

Moleskin:
– Again, many, many threats sent YHC’s way. At one point McLovin asked if YHC was OK with never seeing his family again. All good fun. Great job on a tough workout in the rain, men. #congrats. #AllDayToRest.
– Great to see the #Brickpile pax arrive. Upon their arrival though, the #Thunder pax informed them that they chose the wrong morning to drop by. The arrived just in time for the Burpee Variation set. Nice to have bestoted that round on two AOs in the same workout.
– Despite what the pax may think the #DiamondDavidLeeRothBurpee is already in the Exercise list. This one came from Big Bertha in Augusta. Thanks for the idea, buddy.
– Always a good time leading the pax. There were plenty of complaints about the rain, but all pax hung in there, especially when it started pouring while we were in the merkin position. The pax could really feel the rain on their backs.
– Nice to hear that #Myrtle also thought that #Hammer needed a dose of Burpees in the rain. #GreatMinds.
– Spot – be aware, Seeker would like to never be on the Devo Q when YHC Qs. I don’t know why??
