Battle #Snowpocalypse 2017

Earlier this week, the weatherman was calling for nasty conditions for Saturday morning, but despite the wishes of all the 2.0s in the Midlands, we arose to 36 degrees and wet…

Six faithful posted to Battle to thumb their nose at Mother Nature and do a bit of work for a Robber/Hustler Q. Here’s what we did:

1st Half:

  • Quick warmup with squats and merkins
  • 3 Rounds tire flip alternating teams between the big and BIG tire.
  • 1 lap around the not-so-soggy triangle with an improvised long mile (sandbag throw) with 1 80#,  2 60#, and 1 40#.
  • 3 Rounds tire flip alternating teams between the big and BIG tire with the 80# sandbags carried.

2nd Half

  • Bear crawl Indian run (two evolutions)
  • Descending burpee ladder from 15 to 1.
  • Bear crawl Indian run (two evolutions)
  • Descending atomic merkin ladder from 15 to 1.

Moleskin

  • Although I haven’t Qed the Battle very frequently, I do enjoy bringing something a little different over there (some more stationary), as usually I’m the guy at the 6. I’ve actually be left behind on more than one occasion.
  • Great chatter from the small group today despite the conditions. There’s something galvanizing to a grip of guys about dragging wet and muddy sandbags around on a cold morning that makes guys want to keep the positive attitude going. I love it.
  • The highlight of the morning was when Coach Splinter told me that the workout was “mediocre”. I  knew that was his way of saying “good work”… I’m just hoping it was on the high end of mediocre, and not the low end.
