A Challenge…

The end of the month at Hammer always means it’s time for a Dealer’s Choice. YHC challenged the PAX to give us their best. 10 dominated the fartsack and did not disappoint!

Conditions: A refreshing 45 degrees and clear.

The Thang:

  • Billy Bob: Burpee Ladder 10 reps down to 5. (The tone was set)
  • RA: Grab Hammer blocks and a Partner. One partner Farmer Carries 2 blocks 40 yards and back while other partner does flutter kicks. Alternate and do straight leg sit-ups. (The PAX finally witnessed something that slowed down Garnish and made sure he was aware of it).
  • Garnish: Leave blocks and keep partner for alternating hill runs. Alternating partner does flutter kicks, Freddie Mercury’s and Big Boy sit-ups. (Garnish successfully delivered payback to the PAX).
  • McNugget: Indian Run up hill to playground. 25 pull-ups OYO. 1.5 minute high-plank, 30 second low push-up hold (crowd pleaser).
  • Eldrick: Head to the wall for Chicken Peckers x 10 IC (always a crowd pleaser) , 2 minute wall sit with arms extended out.
  • Duckie: 30 squats OYO, 30 Mountain Climbers OYO, Bear Crawl around basketball court (crowd pleaser).
  • Thurston: Head back to block for more farmer carries. This time partner 1 runs down hill and back while partner 2 farmer carries the extremely heavy blocks sourced by McNugget from an old chicken house.
  • Collar: Put up blocks. Return to flag for 3 minutes of max rep squats.

COT: Count-o-rama, Name-o-rama, BOM, Prayer by YHC.

Announcements: Post at Mission convergence on 3/31. Post at Palmetto Place Sunday’s at 4 PM.

Moleskin: YHC left this morning’s workout fired up. The Hammer PAX simply brought it today. Not just in leading challenging workouts, but everyone was giving it all they had. That’s how you #getbetter! But, something else happened this morning. During COT announcements, the PAX discussed the Mission and Palmetto Place. Two very important organizations that F3 supports. YHC has posted to the Mission once (during a Battle double down) and has not yet posted to Palmetto Place. Unfortunately, like YHC, many F3 Columbia PAX haven’t spent much or any of our time supporting these great causes by posting. This needs to change.

As great as the USA is, our country has changed. In many cases, we simply aren’t AWARE of what goes on around us. People spend more time with their electronic devices than they do other people. YHC regularly observes families in restaurants engrossed in their phones and tablets and not each other. Social Media platforms have become a medium for ridicule and name calling over issues that won’t be resolved unless people learn the importance of humility and grace. The results of this culture lead to tragic events. This country’s next generation of leaders very possibly won’t have any clue how to properly lead because of the examples that current adult generations set for them.  However, there is hope.

The revelation the Hammer PAX had this morning is this… F3 Columbia initiates change and teaches men how to Dominate Life. We give hope to the guy who’s given up on life due to addiction. We influence the teenage boy to be a change maker for his generation, who would otherwise end up dead or in prison. This has been accomplished with the leadership and involvement of just a few PAX. Imagine what could happen if more of us were involved?

YHC challenges the PAX of Hammer and F3 Columbia to HC with me and post en masse to the Mission Convergence on 3/31. Then, don’t be like YHC and wait a year between posts. Post regularly.

YHC challenges the PAX of Hammer and F3 Columbia to HC with me and post regularly on Sunday’s at 4pm to Palmetto Place.

Let’s show our community what it means to be a HIM.
