Over The Hill

February 26, 1978 YHC came kicking and screaming into the world. Born in Columbia, raised in Chapin, a lifelong, red blooded, God-fearing, local southern-American. It’s been a great ride so far and YHC has truly been blessed by our Creator. The Gloom came calling for 12 PAX today and I could think of no better way than to celebrate my 40 years on the planet with my brothers from F3 Speedtrap with an “Over The Hill” themed workout. It went like this.

Conditions:
Mid-40s, clear, feeling great

The Thang:
Mosey to front parking lot for warm up:
          Windmill x 20 IC
          High Knees x 40 OYO
          IW x 20 IC
o   Had to pick up our mosey and head to the shelter parking lot at this point as cars started filing in to the park.
          Merkins x 40 OYO
          LBC x 20 IC

Mosey through the trail to CIS picnic tables for 40 dips

Mosey to CES parking lot hill in front of building – “Over The Hill” DORA. Partner 1 stays at bottom and begins exercises, Partner 2 runs “over the hill” and back for flapjack. Partners combine to perform:

          40 Burpees
          80 Big Boys
          120 Merkins
          160 Squats

CES Concession Stand, grab some wall – 40 seconds on the wall, 40 second rest. R&R x 3.

Block pile:
          40 curls
          40 overhead press
          40 bent over rows
          40 calf raises

CCP parking lot for 40 starfish merkins. 20 on one end of roadway, run to other side across from concrete benches for 20 more. Then back to the flag.

Mary, 40 overhead arm claps. Get your waters, 6:00am.

At this point, YHC noticed an unusual missed call from my Mom from 5:56am. Not normal. Had to leave due to apparent family emergency as Mom was taken to the hospital early this morning due to unknown severe pain in her side. Thankfully (although painfully) it was a large kidney stone. Mom’s doing well and is home. Howler took over name-o-rama, announcements and prayer requests, of which there were none except for YHC’s mother, Carol. Thanks to everyone for the prayers, the follow up phone calls and texts. And thanks for celebrating my 40th year around the sun. Here’s to another 40. See you in the Gloom!
