Struggles at the Shank

Great time today at the Shank, although a very un-jolly crowd during this Christmas season, as the rookie AOQ trys to finds his stride. but all that quickly subsided once we got down to business, except for the occasional, varying insults hurled my way (“Brick you suck”, “150 burpees?! , etc…).

Also, a few failures of note, the guys (mainly KD) were quick to point out to their newbie, AOQ. Ok, ok; I forgot to plant the flag, I called it a Shuttle flag, then quickly tried to save face, and called it a shuffle flag (who knew), oh, and then I almost left it on my way out. Settle down guys, I’ll pick it up eventually.  

We pressed on though and work was done. Everyone crushed it today. T-Claps to Crab legs for posting for his 2nd of the week. 

Finally, we had our second FNG of the week. Welcome, Sergeant Slaughter. You might say, he hit the cool name jackpot; wouldn’t you agree, Hash and Rice?

The Thang(s):

We partnered up in 4 teams of 3 for a relay, we did 60 yd runs with 2 guys on one end and 1 on the other. One of the 2 stays and does his part of called team exercise, while the other one runs to the solo partner at the other end.  The solo Pax was doing as many reps as possible of a called core exercise. The 5 rounds we did were as follows.

100 Team Alternating Merkins (on your block) –> Plank Jacks (as many as possible)

125 Team block thrusters –>Mt. Climbers (as many as possible)

150 Team Burpees –>Iron Crosses (as many as possible)

175 Team Kettlebell Swings –> hold high plank (until partner returns)

200 Team Squats with your block –>V-ups (as many as possible)
