24 pax posted crypt to endure YHC’s bootcamp VQ. One year and nine months has passed since this pax first stepped foot on Dreher HS grounds for brickpile and was named Yellow Cake. He has since made tons of solid relationships and friends, run three half-marathons, countless 5Ks, a 10K, a mud run, Cottonmouth, Q’d countless Stride runs and speed workouts. He finally overcame the fear today … and a Floppy Disk call-out over twitter.. and took the helm at a bootcamp. YHC encourages all to give this Q thing a try. It was a lot of fun!

Track was locked, so turn around and meet up at parking lot near Swamp entrance.
Blueberry Biscuit… Sprint the straight and mozy the curves and add 10 merkins at each lap. AMRAP for 5 minutes.
Indian Run back to the flag and squeeze in a few flutter kicks until 0600.

YHC has shared before with the Stride faithful his struggles in the past (and ongoing). But this is a new crew and the floor was mine. God has used this past year+ to bring me through a journey of recovery from addiction to lust and internet pornography. In addition to this, a life full of deception was eating my lunch and hurting my wife and kids. Ultimately, it hurt my witness as a Christ Follower and my father.
My question and challenge to the pax was simple (but life changing and immensely difficult): What are you holding onto or keeping locked away in your heart that is killing your soul? What are you keeping from your wife or other loved ones? Get it out in the open! Satan loves nothing else but when God’s children keep shameful sins to themselves… in the dark. Get it into the light and begin to embrace God’s love and peace for you. YHC is just starting this and believe you me, it is a daily choice. Thirteen months of sobriety can disappear with one choice.
We are strong in the gloom. But are you strong against your sin? Do you tolerate mediocrity? YHC is preaching to himself here. Don’t believe for a second that you’re alone in your struggles. Someone else is going or has gone through the same pain.
Moleskin:
YHC’s first Q DEFINITELY looked better on weinke. Since he only periodically posts Crypt, he is unfamiliar with the skills and capabilities of the Crypt faithful. This will NOT deter YHC from adding numerous running exercises in his next Q at crypt. These pax are strong and determined. Some of them are fast runners which was very encouraging. YHC is looking forward to another fun and fast beatdown to get better together!
