The Surge pax work off some Memorial Weekend calories with loaded dice

Surge’s Q sheet is usually booked out a couple months in advance – which is a good thing.  When I signed up to Q, I’m not sure if I knew it was the day after Memorial Day.  Or that I would be dragging soooo bad from a couple days at the beach.  But I managed to get through the 45 minutes somehow (I think the other PAX managed much better than myself).  I brought a dice based workout that was first used at The Hollow a few weeks back.  I’m starting to agree with the PAX that the dice might be loaded towards the higher numbers.

There were 6 dice – 2 red, 2 green, 2 blue.  Each color had a 6-sided die that would decide the exercise.  Each color also had a 12/20/100-sided die that would decide the number of reps.  We took turns rolling the dice and doing the exercises.  Between each roll of the dice (and each set of exercises) we would run the length of the basketball courts and back.  All PAX got a chance to roll (we cut out a few exercises so everyone could roll).  Some exercises were rolled multiple time while some were never rolled.  The layout of the dice and exercises were…

    • 1 – bear crawl out and back (this wasn’t rep dependent)
    • 2 – block jump burpees
    • 3 – block thrusters
    • 4 – block decline merkins

When time was up we returned blocks and met back at the shovel flag for the count-o-rama, name-o-rama, announcements, prayer.

Moleskin

  • Rolling a 00 early in the workout equals 100.  In the middle of the workout, it is a “team 100”.  At the end of the workout, everyone was okay with it equaling zero.
  • I need to get the dice checked.  Especially the blue which goes to 100.  I think it rolled 100 three times, several 70/60s.  The odds weren’t in our favor.
