The Gauntlet (Day Nine) – CAT5

THE DEAL:
Day nine of the 2018 Gauntlet featured 56 PAX. After quite a bit of “confidence” expressed on Twitter about the challenge that this course presented, it was unclear how many PAX would dare to show up. Several converging AOs (The Hollow, The Arena, Ambush and C.A.T.) helped the numbers considerably as 15 PAX made it out to their first Gauntlet event this morning. As for my first experience with CAT5, I can tell you that what it lacks in creativity, it definitely makes up for in relentless brutality, something I think its creators would be proud of. Moist, AOQ and co-creator of this monstrosity, got us started by explaining the details of CAT5. Following a quick opening prayer, we were off and running/climbing steps.

CAT5:
21 OVERHEAD BLOCK PRESSES and 21 BLOCK CURLS
UP the steps to the top of press box
21 MERKINS and 21 LBCs
DOWN the steps, follow the signs and back to starting point
Rinse and Repeat for 40 minutes, increasing reps by 1 each lap.
