Fashion Files: Ranger Edition

The Graveyard PAX are always willing to work hard, and today was no exception. The cold weather may have impacted the overall numbers, but the men who made it out were most definitely up for the plan laid out before them. The wind threatened to make us all miserable, but it was only cold for the first couple minutes. After that, the pain of the burpees and T-Plank merkins was greater than the chill of the wind. TClaps to all for their positive attitudes in some sucky conditions.

Extra special thanks to Ranger for his fashion advice. Apparently, he has noticed that I tend to wear the same green and yellow striped Green Bay Packers winter hat, and it seemed to bother him – at least enough to mention it (all in good fun of course – I think). I explained that it was the warmest hat I’ve ever worn, but that wasn’t enough to get him on my side. He decided to stay for the workout even though I kept the hat on the entire time. I’ve noticed he is scheduled to Q at the Arena on Thursday, so I will be posting there and bringing him a hat to wear so he can see (and feel) for himself.

CLOSING PRAYER/DEVO
I recently accepted the challenge to read one chapter of Proverbs per day for the month of January. In addition to reading and reflecting, I decided to share what resonated most with me with two groups – some F3 brothers to whom I’m accountable and my wife and two college-aged kids. The process of sharing my reflections, especially with my family, has yielded some encouraging results. First, having assumed my place as a spiritual leader in my family, something I’ve not always done, my wife and kids have expressed their appreciation and excitement over doing this little study. Next, by placing a value on their reflections it has given them a voice in communicating their understanding of the Scriptures. As I wrap up the exercise today, it’s been amazing to see how the process of sharing the Word in this way continues and what comes from it.

I would like to challenge you all to seek God’s wisdom, found in His word, and then share it with the people around you, especially your families. I believe what will come out of this would be extremely powerful and beneficial to us all.

As always, it was a pleasure to stand among and lead these men. I look forward to seeing them in the gloom soon.
