A Modified “Stair Suicides” Adventure & “Dice of Discipline” Brickorama for a Venomous Vexation of Fun!

9 PAX, including YHC, posted in the SnakePit morning gloom with clear eyes and sound hearts; determined to not let the infamous “Pit” put its fangs into us. YHC, led the PAX though the sux that I personally despise, but completed the Q with brothers appearing appreciative of the circuitous adventure through the “Pit”. (Note to self: recording too much of the workout on the phone leads to awkward playback at home; Q still needs oxygen…disturbingly heavy breathing…YHC digresses)

Under a pre-dawn moon, “Modified Stair Suicides” (have you seen the 7 level stair attraction at SnakePit…at least the 4,900th Wonder of the World), and” Dice of Discipline Brickorama” ensued. The PAX, with much embrace, worked itself into a dripping mess. YHC was, however, a little hurt when the PAX wished to rename the “Dice of Discipline” to the “Dice of Dummies”, and accused the Q of cheating when his foot accidentally adjusted a roll….twice. YHC rewarded the mumble-chatter with a couple rigged dice rolls to insure the five Burpees rule for rolling doubles kicked in. (The suggestion to rename the Dice reminded me of one of my favorite movie quotes; “Don’t call that dog “life-saver”, call him “%&@#-head”. I was not sure if the Pax was calling the Q a “Jerk”, but YHC digresses once again.) The PAX as always rejoiced in unity as the sux continued and sadly ended; ah brethren in unity; so very beautiful.

Weather: 64 degrees; Glorious day break in the gloom

* 15 Windmills (IC)
* 20 Little Arm Circles – 10 forward, 10 backwards (IC)
* 10 Merkins (IC)

* Teammate Exercise – While 1’s were running modified stair suicides; the 2’s (teammates) did flutter kicks until their teammate completed the run.

* When the 1’s completed their suicides, they switched places with the 2’s. The 2’s start their running of stair suicides while the 1’s did flutter kicks until compete.

* Once all finished; 10-count blow, rinse and repeat. Mountain Climbers took the place of flutter kicks in the second rotation.

* Recover and mosey back to bricks and circle for brick fun

Dice & Bricks Do The Body Good! YEAH! BABY!! YEAH!!!

“Dice of Discipline” Brickorama

* Each man takes his (2) double bricks in hand

* Circled in field and proceeded to take turns rolling dice to determine count.

o Exercise rotation of Curls, Triceps Extensions, and Shoulder Presses (OYO)
o First dice set rolled by man to the left of Q
o A roll of 6 or less is multiplied by 7x, and a roll of 7 or higher on the is multiplied by 5X for that particular set-count rotation
o Any doubles adds (5) Burpees to that given set
o Plank when finished
o Post plank exercise of Merkins (IC), Mountain Climbers (IC), and Plank Jacks (IC) were rotated between each set completion prior to next dice roll

* Time allotted allowed each member of the PAX to roll once, and Julep won the hearts of the Pax with a double on the 3rd roll, with lucky doubles! (YHC did rig two of the rolls a bit with my foot to ensure the Burpee award was presented. The Q is always here is serve and the PAX was getting a little restless.)

* Totals of all sets:

o Curl Sets (3 iterations) of 35, 20, 40 = 95 Curls (OYO via rotating sets)
o Triceps Extensions Sets (3 iterations) of 45, 40, 45 = 130 TE’s (OYO via rotating sets)
o Shoulder Press Sets (3 iterations) of 50, 10, 30 = 90 Shoulder Presses (OYO via rotating sets)
o 15 Burpees via (3) sets of 5 were accomplished due to doubles being fixed; YHC means, “rolled”.

Moleskin:

Devotional: “Daily Devotional | Perseverance Is A Christian Virtue Posted on November 16, 2011 by thelivingwordministries

James 1:2-4 NIV Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

James states that perseverance is the product of faith being tested with many trials. While nobody likes being challenged on their faith, James says to “Consider it pure joy”. He says this because perseverance makes a soul “mature and complete”.

This is the necessary food that will help you grow spiritually. It can change you from a spiritual baby to a spiritual soldier that does “not lack anything”. But in order for this to happen, you must face trials and when you do, you must have faith in God, for only faith can produce perseverance. What is faith then? Faith is trusting in God without doubt and believing that whatever trials you face, God will always be there to bring you through. This does not mean that you can sit down and float through the trial however. In order to overcome a trial, one must act in the defense of one’s faith. And in order to defend your faith, one must be armed with the Armor of God that is listed in Ephesians 6:10-18. Whenever you face a trial, use Ephesians 6:10-18 as a checklist to make sure you have all of your gear (truth, faith, salvation, the Word of God, and righteousness). When you are armed, go out there and face your trial. When you have overcome every obstacle, you have persevered. This is one more step to becoming “mature and complete, not lacking anything”. REJOICE when you persevere. Don’t take trials as the world does. Be joyful at the chance to prove that God is the Almighty, the All-Knowing, and the Faithful.”
