4 Years of Not Helping

Four years agoish, YHC made his first post.  Today we celebrated that fateful day.

Weather: 51°

The Thang:

Long mosey down Cemetery Hill and to the student parking lot for COP

SSH x 10 IC
LBAC x 10 IC f/r
OH Claps x 10 IC
Imperial Walkers x 10 IC
TTT x 10 IC – the right way, we clapped

Continue long mosey by the tennis courts and up the hill to the outdoor gym.  Split into four groups.

  1. AMRAP – Tire flips to the end of the parking lot, then x10 incline merkins.  Then start flipping back.
  2. AMRAP – 1 incline merkin, 1 dip, then 2 incline merkins, 1 dip.  Keep repeating by adding one rep to the merkins.
  3. AMRAP – 1 squat, 1 pull-up, then 2 squats, 1 pull-up.  Keep repeating by adding one rep to the squats.
  4. Run down to the tree line, wait that’s confusing somehow, down to the fire hydrant right before the tree line and then back up to the outdoor gym.

Groups rotate when the runners get back.  All groups completed about 1 1/2 sets of these rotations.

Jailbreak back to the flag.

James 1:12 – “Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.”

Four years, a lot can happen in those years.  They can and have gone by quickly.  I still remember my first post and getting named, still remember the EH’s from Clipboard that got me there.

Over these past four years I’ve completed numerous things that I never dreamed of doing; including multiple 5K’s, 12K’s, half marathon, 30K, some Ultras, some relay events through SC and NC, and a good many GORUCK events.  Those were great times, and great memories made during those.  And as great as those memories are, they pale in comparison to the relationships built and fellowship with the #HIM of F3.

The past year, I’ve dealt with some physical struggles.  The 1st F is great, but I can get that anywhere.  Part of what kept me pushing though to get through these physical and other struggles had nothing to do with the 1st F though, it was all about the 2nd and 3rd F.  In the end, those are the things that really matter and really make a difference.

I’m not where I want to be; however, I’m no where near where I was and that is because of F3 and the accountability it creates, the relationships it forges, and faith that it builds in you and others.

Four years down, looking forward to many more.  Thanks, men!
