18 pax join YHC to celebrate his one year anniversary with F3 where it all started for him, the Graveyard

One year ago YHC had just finished a weight loss competition to lose some excess lbs.  He did this on his own, which was okay but something we missing.  YHC loved working out, but at the end of each workout, regardless of the progress being made in the competition…there was an empty feeling.  YHC thought that getting back into shape would help this empty feeling, but it didn’t.

Then one day, while down at the park in his neighborhood he ran into a guy he had met a couple of times.  That guys name is Clipboard.  He told him about F3 and encouraged him to go out.  YHC used to wake up early to workout while in the Marine Corps, but those days were behind him and he thought, “Man waking up at 0500 in the morning is to early, and waking up at 0630 on a Saturday, who does that!?!?”.  Well after a couple EHs, he gave in.  And YHC thanks God everyday that he gave in.

That guy he met a couple of times named Clipboard, not just some guy any more but a close friend and a brother.  And the same goes for many of the other pax that YHC has met over this past year.  So many great influences and no just physical, but spiritual leaders met along the way.  Each and every pax being inspirational in their own unique way with one thing in common, they want to get better but not by themselves, but together as a brotherhood.

And there it is, that is what YHC was missing while he was working out on his own.  A brotherhood is something that an individual can’t possess.  It takes a team that bands together through thick and thin to create a brotherhood.  And this brotherhood has been created by iron sharpening iron.  As cliche as it may sound, it is the truth.  As YHC reminisces over the past year, he remembers all the things that he accomplished with his F3 brothers…his first 5k race, GRC 1277, another 5k, RLB 002, another 5k, then a 12k, a 20-mile and marathon ruck, and the cherry on top the first ever F3 GORUCK Heavy.  Each event was done side by side with his F3 brothers.  These are things YHC would have never even thought about doing on his own because many of them were CSAUP events.  But in YHCs mind, there was nothing completely stupid and definitely not utterly pointless when completing those events.  They were completely satisfying and ultimately possible because of his F3 brothers.

That covers the physical side of YHCs first year with F3 and the first F.  But what YHC considers the most important part of F3 are the second and third F’s.  YHC found the strength and renewed faith that he was missing deep down in his soul.  He found it because of his F3 brothers.  Because of this YHC was saved and dug out of the depression he had been in before he found F3, or better yet before F3 found him.  Barely three months after joining F3 YHC was baptized.  He found the strength to ask for forgiveness and to have his sins of the past washed away, all because of the strength and encouragement he found from his F3 brothers.

And there it is, that is what F3 can do you.  It can transform you.  It can make you better, and believe YHC it will make you better because your brothers of the gloom won’t allow you to fail.  They won’t let you down, and they will be there for you.  Because of them, you are never alone in any fight or struggle you are going through.

So after all those thoughts, all that rambling there was a workout that had to go on.  And on it went as the pax helped YHC broad jump his way into his next year with F3.

“In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering
the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭20:35‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Give your time to those in need.  As YHC said before, someone gave their time to him while he was in need and EH’d him to come out and what a difference it made.  Go out and do good in Gods name.
